Congratulations!!

If you or a loved one has decided they want to stop drinking and or using drugs!

But what do you do if you have no money or insurance?

Stopping alcohol and drugs on your own can be dangerous and it is suggested that if at all possible you seek a doctors advice on the level of detox care that is appropriate.

County hospitals can be helpful. Some people need a medically assisted detox!

Then treatment can be very helpful. There are low and no cost programs available.

The good news is that there is a lot of state, county and other help available nationwide.

#1 SAMHSA website www.samhsa.gov and number is 1-800-662 -HELP

#2 Call your county Health Department and ask what options are available.

#3 Local Alano (AA/NA) clubs/members call AA/NA central offices often know what is available by private citizens and churches that can differ from state to state and city to city.

#4 Consider low and no-cost faith based programs, there are links available on this site.

#5 Families can post in and message recovery groups and pages for information as well
