Subtle Suggestions

I am 53 years old with 32 years of sobriety and have not relapsed. If one CHOOSES to stay sober they can. Is it easy No, it takes hard work, following the suggestion of one’s sponsor, doing the 12 steps (1-12 no skipping steps) on a daily bases. Having a we (support system).

Following the program to the letter. My husband who has 29 years sobriety from both drugs and alcohol, pointed this out to that if we as alcoholics and/or addicts can stop for one day we have that day. Now I see it that if I can quit 1 second, 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, etc.

Then yes I will have a lifetime. It is what I choose to do. I choose to be sober today. Take it one day at a time and those days do add up.
